Shaken not Stirred

3 oz Lakewood Five Gin

1 oz Premium Vodka (Bond preferred Polish or Russian grain vodka)

0.5 oz Lillet Blanc (The modern, available replacement for the discontinued Kina Lillet)

Garnish: A large, thin slice of lemon peel

The Method:

Chill your glassware. Place a cocktail coupe or martini glass into the freezer for 5 minutes before making the drink.

Combine the spirits. Pour the Lakewood Five Gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc into a cocktail shaker.

Ice and shake. Fill the shaker to the top with fresh, clean ice cubes. Shake vigorously for about 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker tin is completely frosted and freezing to the touch.

Strain the cocktail. Double-strain the liquid into your chilled glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh tea strainer to catch any tiny shards of broken ice.

Express the garnish. Hold the lemon peel over the surface of the drink with the yellow skin facing down. Twist it sharply to express the citrus oils across the top of the drink, rub the peel gently around the rim of the glass, and drop it in.

This delightful drink is one of the standout cocktail recipes you can create using Lakewood Five Gin and is sure to please anyone who enjoys gin drinks.
